ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered the religious parties to end their sit-in at Faizabad Interchange, and also sought their apology over derogatory remarks against the Chief Justice.

The directives were issued by the IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui while hearing a petition in Islamabad, saying that sit-in must be ended as the public had been suffering a lot since eight days.

The petition had been filed by Maulana Allah Wasaya on behalf of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Yah Rasool Allah in which the Court was requested to issue order to make the report of a Committee formed to amend the Election Act 2017 with Senator Raja Zafarul Haq as the Head.

During the hearing, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui told the petitioner that your petition would be conditioned to end sit-In.

Justice Siddique remarked that once the issue had been brought in the Court, the sit-in must now culminate. He asked the sit-in protesters to abide by the law, and adopt a legitimate way to seeks their rightful demands fulfilled.

It is pertinent to here that a few thousands protestors led by Tehreek-i-Labbaik Yah Rasool Allah and Sunni Tehreek have been staging a sit-in at Faisalabad Interchange for last eight days. They are demanding the Law and Minister Zahid Hamid to tender his resignation over his involvement in bringing a controversial amendment in Election Act 2017 relating to Khatam-e-Nabuwat (Finality of Prophethood).

In a bid to negotiate with the protestors to end their sit-in, the federal government constituted a team led Raja Zafar ul Haq while the Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Wednesday said that the government wanted to bring Islamabad sit-in to an end in a peaceful manner.
