ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday said the opponents had completely failed to produce sufficient evidence against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

“In the respect of courts, PML-N is appearing before the courts and facing the accountability and not running from the process”, the minister said while talking to media outside the accountability court in Islamabad.

The minister said no allegation of corruption had been proven against Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would continue its efforts to carry out development agenda despite hurdles by the opponents. He said the leadership of the PML-N would not be punished as it had done nothing wrong. He said Nawaz Sharif was a since politician and facing lairs opponents.

Abid Sher Ali said the PML-N government was respecting the institutions and Nawaz Sharif was symbol of Pakistan’s progress, prosperity and development. He said the government was committed to continue to follow the same path.

The water and power minister said Nawaz Sharif had put the Country on a track of progress. “Nawaz Sharif has done things for the development of the country that were never done by the other governments for making Pakistan strong.”

The minister said every time PML-N came to power on the basis of the people’s votes.
