ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The local artists and theatre production houses got fair opportunity to showcase their flair and creativity for the performing arts during the ongoing 12th National Theatre Festival (NTF) 2017.
The largest ever theatre festival is being organised by the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad in connection with the 70th independence anniversary of Pakistan.
The objective of the festival is to foster healthy theatrical activities by providing a National platform to the leading theatre groups in the country.
Theatre Groups from all over the country are participating in the said festival and avail a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent at National level and share their ideas with likeminded theatre enthusiasts.
The audience appreciated the performances and efforts of PNCA for promotion of serious theater. Viewers were of the opinion that theater with a cause is the need of the hour.
The Director General PNCA Syed Jamal Shahid told the state-run news agency that total 45 plays will be performed during the month-long festival as it will be the 45th anniversary of the PNCA.
Jamal Shah said that all leading theatre groups from across the country are participating in the annual festival. He said the PNCA is making all efforts to consolidate the cultural synergy of the provinces and other federating units.
The month-long National Theatre Festival will conclude on November 30.
