‘Hasty’ justice being meted out to only Nawaz Sharif: Maryam

Politics'Hasty' justice being meted out to only Nawaz Sharif: Maryam

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Leader Maryam Nawaz on Thursday claimed that the ‘hasty’ justice was being meted out to only Nawaz Sharif and his family.

Talking to media outside the Accountability Court in Islamabad, Maryam said evidences were being fabricated against Sharif family, and questioned if law only applied on Nawaz Sharif and family?

Maryam Nawaz questioned “Is this VVIP accountability that former dictator Pervez Musharraf was spared unaccounted on his lame pretext of backache”.

The PML-N leader said why anyone who talked about upholding democratic values and promoting justice in the society was being termed as traitor.

“If we express apprehension on any verdict it is termed as contempt of court. Firstly, Nawaz Sharif was disqualified and now criminal proceedings has been started against him and family,” she said.

Maryam said opponents had miserably failed to find anything objectionable against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“The erstwhile Joint Investigation Team also failed to find any concrete evidence against Sharif family and returned empty handed from United Kingdom,” she said.

“We are appearing in the court despite our mother’s illness and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s questionable disqualification, so how the process is being termed as VVIP accountability,” she added.

In reply to another question, Maryam Nawaz said there were no differences within the Sharif family, adding only media was propagating against the family which had no importance.
