ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost has said that the two Countries need to further improve their bilateral relations through increased focus on business and commercial activities.

“Economic progress is vital for prosperity, which is dependent upon peace and cordial relationship between both countries,” the ambassador said in a meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Deputy Parliamentary Leader Senator Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif at the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad on Monday.

During the meeting, they discussed apart from issues of mutual interest, the impact of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the positive role of Gwadar and Chabahar ports on Pakistan-Iran economy.

Senator Saif also stressed that both the brotherly Countries need to focus on regional issues in a friendly manner, and never allow misunderstandings and regional disputes to damage the cordial relationship between them.
