ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The newly elected Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has stressed the importance of economic diplomacy to ensure that Pakistan’s true economic potential is harnessed in win-win partnerships with other Countries.
While receiving a briefing by the Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua on Pakistan’s Foreign Relations at the Prime Minister’s office in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the just struggle of people of Indian Occupied Kashmir for their right of self-determination.
The prime minister directed continued projection of grave human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir by the Indian occupation forces.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif was also present in the briefing which covered in detail, issues of importance in Pakistan’s Foreign Policy.
It was the first briefing on Pakistan’s Foreign Relations which Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was given today, a day after he officially assumed his duties as the next prime minister
Earlier in the day, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat also called on the new prime minister and discussed professional matters.
