SWABI, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday assured the family of Mashal Khan that he would avenge their son’s death and get justice for the family as if it were one of his own family members.

“I am here today to give Mashal’s family the assurance that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and KPK police will go till the end to get justice for Mashal Khan,” Imran Khan said when he visited Swabi to condole with the family of Mashal Khan, a Student of Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan who was lynched to death over blasphemy allegations on April 14.

Imran Khan said that it was a conspiracy against Mashal Khan and so many things are coming to light. He said that investigations are ongoing and there have been arrests of those who were involved and those who conspired.

“We will ensure they are given the toughest of punishments so this becomes a precedent and example of others to never misuse this issue ever again,” he said.

“This will become a defining moment for Pakistan,” he said.

The Chairman PTI said that as a father I understand the pain of his parents, and what they did with Mashal Khan on fake allegations, even animals do not behave like this.

Imran Khan said that all of Pakistan is right now on the same page that these people must be given the toughest of punishments so as to set an example for all times to come.

Furthermore, he said that the Supreme Court decided to take Sou Moto action before that the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak commissioned the judicial inquiry and the KPK police acted on their own to investigate and speed up this investigation.

“No matter who is involved in this, no matter which background or party they belong to they will be given the strictest of punishments,” Imran Khan assured.

“An example has to be set so this massive issue and allegation is never misused again,” he added.
