PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday approved 17 Projects with an estimated cost of Rs 63295.115 million.

The Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presided over the meeting of PDWP in Peshawar which was attended by its members and respective administrative Secretaries.

The forum after considering 22 projects pertaining to different sectors including Higher Education, Elementary & Secondary Education, Auqaf,  Agriculture, Multi Sectoral Development, Water, Roads and Bridges, Social Welfare, ST&IT and Transport sectors for the uplift of the province approved 17 Projects with an estimated cost of Rs 63295.115 million.

Five projects were deferred due to inadequate designs and were sent to respective departments for rectification and improvement.

The approved projects included Teacher Engagement for four year BS Program, Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences, University of Peshawar, construction and rehabilitation of Darul Uloom Haqannia, Akora Khattak, Introduction of certification facilities for Quality Assurance and Creation of Market Linkages for Agriculture Interventions in KPK, Provision for Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS) in KPK, Improvement and extension of irrigation channels, flood protection and bridges in district Swabi,

Roads and Bridges sector were “a) Impt,/ Widg & BT of Baikand to Nakhtar Kandaw road and Mian Killay to Sarbanda, Nazar Abad to Ashar Banr road b) Impt./ Widg & BT of Sigram to Maloka road c) Const/reh of Malakabad to Gat road in Swat, Up-gradation of six (6) Numbers of Level Crossings (Phattak) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (1st Phase) District Nowshera, Construction and Pavement of internal roads, in UC’s Machi, Rustam, Bazar, Chargali, Palo Dheri, Jamal Garhi, Sawal Dher, Kati garhi, Katlang-I, Katlang-II,, Mardan, Improvement and Blacktopping of Butti to Lower Surjal and Dana – 10 KM, District Abbottabad, F/S, Design and Construction of Makhnial road from Changla to Islamabad, Construction / Widening / Improvement / Rehabilitation of Roads and Bridges (on need basis) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. SH: Improvement and Rehabilitation of various roads in District Abbottabad PK-48, Construction & Blacktopping of Manglawar to Malam Jabba Road 35 KM, District Swat, Establishment of Model Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Peshawar, ICT Infrastructure for establishment of Citizen Facilitation Centers, Construction of Peshawar Mass Transit System (Bus Rapid Transit) (ADB Assisted).
