ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Federal Minster for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed on Thursday informed the Senate that Pakistan would manufacture vehicles in the country with facility of air bags as before this facility was only available in imported cars.

Speaking in the Upper House, he said that few vehicles of Suzuki Company being manufactured in the country have no facility of airbags and not charging extra price for this facility.

He further informed the Senate that Suzuki or any other company was not charging any premium from the customers; however, dealers were responsible for charging premium on urgent delivery of vehicles.

He said if the companies failed to provide vehicles to the customers with in the two months, they would be charged under the Automotive Development Policy.

He said that price and delivery schedule, not exceeding two months, shall be confirmed at the time of booking adding, any delay over two months shall result in discount 2 plus percent prevailing on the date of final delivery/settlement from the final payment, which shall help shorten delivery lead time.

Pakistan, he said was now manufacturing vehicles in better quality aiming at to increase vehicles sale in the country.
