As the 2nd edition Pakistan Super League (PSL) is heading towards the knockout stages, the excitement continues to arise and more thrilling matches are expected.

Four top teams in PSL 2017 Points Table will compete with each other on Friday with the first T20 between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. Later the Defending Champion Islamabad United will face the so-far-top team Quetta Gladiators.

All five teams have played six matches each and by now, Quetta Gladiators is leading at the Points Table with 9 points followed by Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United with 6 points each.

Peshawar Zalmi has 5 points whereas Karachi Kings carries 4.

In its last T20 on February 20 in Sharjah, Lahore Qalandars secured a narrow victory over Islamabad United with New Zealand’s Grant Elliott’s magnificent six in the last over. On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi lost to Karachi Kings by 9 runs despite Shahid Afridi’s 54-run heroic.

Last night, Quetta Gladiators become the first team to qualify for the play-offs. Though Karachi Kings was desperate to win the match but it remained a one-sided match and eventually Quetta won by six wickets.

While chasing 155-run target, Quetta’s Asad Shafiq and Ahmed Shahzad gave an opening stand of 105 runs with 51 and 54 individual scores respectively.
