KARACHI, Pakistan: In the light of his education emergency, the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has decided to upgrade 10 technical institutions, two in each division to impart quality education.

He took this decision while pressing over a meeting on STEVTA at the CM House in Karachi on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant on STEVTA Shahid Taheem, Secretary Universities & Boards Naveed Shaikh, Secretary Colleges Riaz Memon, Secretary Social Welfare Niaz Abbasi, Secretary IT Pervaiz Sihar, MD STEVTA Rafique Burioro and others.

MD STEVTA Rafiq Buriro told the CM Sindh that there were 2800 technical institution in the province where technical education and training in different trades is imparted.

The CM Sindh said that in the first phase he wants to establish 10 state-of-art technical institute which offer quality education and produce good students who can earn good name for them and their institution.

These institutions should be like a brand their name should be enough to get job or onward enrolment, he said.

He added that he wants to establish the state-of-art institutions in five administrative divisions include Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sukkur and Larkana and each division would have two institutions.

He directed the Secretary University & Boards to upgrade the existing institutions by giving them good faculty, job-oriented technical courses and best facilities.

The CM Sindh directed the concerned secretary to submit him a plan for the purpose. “I would provide necessary funds and facilities,” he assured and said he wants good technical education, he said.

The CM Sindh also directed the STEVTA administration to introduce Chinese language courses.

Under the CPEC and non-CPEC projects thousands of Chinese are going to invest in Sindh, therefore Chinese language knowhow would turn to be an additional qualification for jobs.

Concluding the meeting the CM Sindh said that he would be visiting technical centers working all over Sindh.
