ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani Monday said Pakistan attached the highest importance to its historic relations with Egypt and was looking forward to further enhance the economic and political collaboration through increased parliamentary linkages between the two countries.
He said this while talking to ambassador of Egypt Sherif Shaheen who called on him at the Parliament House in Islamabad.
Chairman Senate said parliamentary diplomacy had important role to play, therefore, Friendship Group at parliament should work hard to further cement the historic and traditional interaction between the two countries.
He said keeping in view, the historic bilateral relations between Pakistan and Egypt there was a need to further increase economic ties.
The investors from Egypt could benefit from huge potential in Pakistan’s small and medium industries sector, chairman suggested.
Mian Raza Rabbani said the cooperation between the two countries should also be increased in education and tourism sector as there was a lot of potential in these areas.
He said Al-Azhar University a one of the oldest centre of excellence not only of Islamic knowledge but had always been among the enlightened voices in intellectual sharing.
The chairman Senate said we were looking forward for exchange of delegations between the two countries to further boost the political linkages existing between the two countries since historic era of President Anwar Sadaat and Jamal Abdul Nasir in Egypt.
