ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Rain-thunderstorm with light snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan while mainly cold and dry weather persist in most parts of the country in next 24 hours.

Shallow foggy conditions are likely in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.

A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Saturday, an official of Met office told the state-run news agency.

During last 24 hours weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country.

Minimum temperatures recorded on Friday remained Kalat -04øC, Quetta, Hunza -02øC, Gupis -01øC, Dir, Skardu 02øC, Gilgit 04øC, Chitral, Murree 05øC, Islamabad, Muzaffarabad 08øC, Peshawar, Lahore 11øC, Multan, Faisalabad 12øC, Karachi 16øC and Hyderabad 17øC.
