KARACHI, Pakistan: Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui on Friday took oath as the 31st Governor Sindh in Karachi after Dr Ishratul Ibad’s almost 14-year tenure ended.

Justice Siddiqui had served as Chief Justice of Pakistan from July 1999 to January 2000. Justice (retd) Saeed-uz Zaman Siddiqui replaced Dr Ishratul Ibad who served in office for about 14 years.

In a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday, the president and the prime minister decided to replace Ishratul Ibad with Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui for Sindh governorship.
