ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting & National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan considers Saudi Arabia a strategic partner because it has not only supported Pakistan on matters of strategic interest but also gave generous economic and financial assistance at times of crises.

Talking to Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani who called on her in Islamabad on Thursday, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that common Pakistani feels deep veneration for Saudi Arabia as relations between the two countries are rooted in the centuries old religious, cultural and commercial links between the two peoples.

The state minister said that a number of monuments ranging from Faisal Mosque to the establishment of International Islamic University in Islamabad bear a testimony to the depth of our bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting between Marriyum Aurangzeb and Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani, cooperation in the field of media, information and matters of mutual of interests came under discussion.

Both the state minister and ambassador emphasized the need to learn from each other’s experiences and best practices. They also reiterated their resolve to further enhance bilateral relationship for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.

The Saudi ambassador assured the state minister of his cooperation in areas mutually beneficial to each other’s country.
