ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday began its hearing of Panama Case and in compliance with its order, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Children Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz submitted a joint reply in the Court.

In the reply submitted before a five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and read by the prime minister’s Lawyer Salman Aslam Butt, Maryam Nawaz said that she was a trustee of Nielsen and Nescom companies and had not been a beneficiary of any Offshore Company.

Maryam Nawaz said that she had been filing her tax returns regularly since 1999. She said all the allegations levelled against her are baseless.

Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz also rejected the allegations leveled in the petitions. They said that they were not dependent on the prime minister and that they were non- resident Pakistanis and conducting business outside the country over the last many years.

The apex court ordered all parties of the case to submit documents of property by November 15. However, the prime minister’s Lawyer Salman Aslam Butt sought 15 days from the court for submitting documents of the property.

But the court rejected his plea and adjourned the hearing till November 15.

Earlier talking to media outside the Supreme Court, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the person who first established an Offshore Company was making noise.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was being punished for constructing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. He said that the prime minister’s children had submitted their replies in the court.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
