ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister says all preparations have been made to ensure free‚ fair and transparent elections.

Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has said the caretaker government will extend full cooperation to foreign observers covering general elections in Pakistan.

Talking to a German member of the European Parliament and chief of European Election Observer Mission Michael Gahler in Islamabad today he said all preparations have been made to ensure free‚ fair and transparent elections.

He said all political parties are contesting the elections and there is a great enthusiasm among the people.

The Prime Minister appreciated the media for creating awareness among the people about importance of elections. He said it is for the first time in the history of the country that a transition will take place from one civilian democratic government to another.

Michael Gahler appreciated cooperation of the Pakistan government to European Union Observers in covering the elections.

Later‚ addressing a news conference the Head of the European Union Election Observation Mission said the Mission will deploy 52 observers in different parts of the country to monitor election activities.
