ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal Tuesday said that government would formulate Pakistan’s education system as one of the best systems in Asia, in next 10 years to ensure quality education in the country.

While chairing a meeting on Higher Education Commission (HEC) Vision 2025 here at HEC, he said, the education of the arts subjects along with science education enabling the students to help promote their creative abilities and capabilities.

The Minister said, under Pak-US Knowledge Corridor, as many as 10,000 PhDs would be prepared in next 10 years.

Ahsan Iqbal said, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a game changer while Pak-US Knowledge Corridor would prove strategic game changer.

He said, with the establishment of university in all the districts, the students living in the under-developed areas would have an opportunity to get higher education.

He said, the government had enhanced HEC budget from Rs 100 billion to Rs 215 billion.

Ahsan Iqbal said, the country had paid a heavy price due to political instability and discontinuity in the policies.

He expressed a need to adopt an education system which could promote creativity and inventions instead of the copy-past knowledge.
