Government of PakistanPTI using corruption slogan for political survival: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said PTI has nothing to do with corruption slogan rather its chief Imran Khan was using it for its political survival and gains in general elections 2018.

Speaking in a private news channel, he said if Imran Khan was sincere against corruption why his government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had ended accountability process.

He said Imran Khan always gave examples of the western countries on political values then how he has announced an unlawful and unconstitutional move to lock down Islamabad.

The minister said the government would not allow the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to disrupt routine life of the citizens.

Ahsan Iqbal said the government was sincere to resolve the matter of Terms of Reference (ToR) on Panama Papers and demonstrated maximum flexibility.

He said if PTI was sincere to bring reforms in the system, they should join the government to further strengthen electoral process in the country.

In fact, Ahsan said, Imran wanted decision of his own wish and when any decision was against him, he started criticizing the institutions.

He said at the time when India was showing aggression on Line of Control (LoC), there was a need to evolve unity rather to create chaos in the country.

The minister said the petition of PTI against the Prime Minister was in the Supreme Court so there was no logic to lodge protest against the government.
