NationalInternational bodies express satisfaction on performance of KPK health dept

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: International bodies including Department for International Development (DFID) and Technical Resource Facility Plus (TRF+) have expressed satisfaction on the overall performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department with regard to improved health care services delivery in primary health care facilities of the province.

A meeting of the high ups of health department led by senior Minister for Health Sharam Khan Tarakai with the authorities of DFIF and TRF+ was held to review progress made during the last six months to ensure quality health care services in Basic Health Units and Rural Health Centers across the province, said a hand out issued on Saturday.

A detail report based on real-time data collected by the Independent Monitoring Units, about the availability of staff, equipments, medicines and other facilities in these health units was shared with the authorities of the international donor agencies.

It was informed that there had been 70 percent improvement in the provision of health care services in these health facilities of the province as the issue of non availability of staff, equipments, medicine and other required facilities had been resolved to a great extend.

On this occasion the authorizes of EVA-BHN (Empowerment, Voice & Accountability for Better Health and Nutrition) a program run under the DFID also confirmed the improvement and positive changes taking placing in the overall performance of the primary level health facilities of the province with regard to better health care provision.

Addressing the participants of the meeting Shahram Tarakai said that the provincial government had put the health system of the province on right track and during the last six months there has been unprecedented improvement in health department.
