ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The coordination committees of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have finalized the new party setup in Punjab which would be announced by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari next week.
“The coordination committees have finalized the names for top party slots at the provincial, divisional and district level,” the party sources told the state-run news agency in Islamabad on Friday.
The Central Punjab Committee is consisted of Raja Pervez Ashraf, Rana Farooq Saeed, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed, Nadeem Asghar Kaira and Nadeem Afzal Chan.
While a similar coordination committee was constituted for South Punjab to select the provincial leadership before of the general elections 2018.
The sources said that an important slot of the party would be given to a family member of former PPP Punjab President Mian Manzoor Wattoo either at the divisional or the district level.
They said that Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Rana Farooq Saeed are strong candidates for the party’s top slots in the central Punjab.
Whereas the presidentship of South Punjab, the sources said that Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood is still considered to be a strong candidate.
