LAHORE, Pakistan: The week-long All Pakistan Music Conference-2016 (APMC) will start from September 19, 2016.

Highlighting various tentative activities/ programmes of the festival, APMC Secretary General Prof Dr Ghazala Irfan said that a lecture-cum-demonstration by Sheema Kirmani and Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony would be held on the opening day at Alhamra Hall-III.

The second day of the festival (September 20): A contest among students (up to 10 years of age) at Alhamra Hall-II. The winner would get certificates and Javed Ahmed Qureshi Trophy for the Best School.

This music festival would have several other events including Students Contest for Medals and Ghazanfar Trophy for The Best School/O-Level; Students Contest for Medals and Syed Wajid Ali Trophy for The Best College/A-Level/University; Vocal Classical Music Contest for Roshan Ara Begum Shield for Best Student; and Amateurs Contest for Medals and Hayat Ahmad Khan Trophy for The Best Music Academy.

Dr Ghazala said that on September 21, the programme “Gharano Ki Miraas” would be held. Vocalists belonging to classical singers’ families from across the country would perform on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Folk and Light Classical Music event, and Classical Music programme would be held on September 22 and 23, respectively.

The APMC secretary general said that prize distribution ceremony would be held on September 24, adding that vocalists of folk, light classical, and classical music genres would also perform during the ceremony.
