ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The President of Senegal Macky Sall held talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday to explore the possibilities of further strengthening existing bilateral ties between Pakistan and Senegal in various fields of mutual interest.

The one-on-one meeting will be followed by delegation level talks in which the prime minister and distinguished guest will lead their respective sides.

Earlier, the prime minister warmly received Senegalese President Macky Sall and his 34 member delegation at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.

Upon his arrival, national anthems of the two countries were played. The Senegalese president was presented a guard of honour by a contingent of the armed forces.

Nawaz Sharif introduced the Senegalese president with his cabinet. The visiting dignitary also introduced his delegation to the Prime Minister.

The Senegalese president accompanied by a delegation reached at the Nur Khan Air Base on Monday morning where he was received by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

His visit is the result of an invitation extended to him by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

During the visit, the prime minister will also host a lunch in honour of president of Senegal.

The Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Chairman Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Miftah Ismail will also call on the president of Senegal.
