National63 percent of country's population comprises of youth: Secretary Youth Affairs

KARACHI, Pakistan: 63 percent of Pakistan’s population comprises of youth, which can work even more effectively than the atomic bomb.

This was stated by Secretary Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh Muhammad Rashid while addressing the distribution ceremony of Youth Skills Awards 2016 on Monday.

The ceremony was organized by The Capacity Builder (TCB) in collaboration with Youth Affairs Department.

Muhammad Rashid further said that the youth needs positive directions so that they can be used in nation building and the Youth Affairs Department is making all out efforts for the purpose.

The QEC Director Syed Dr Arshad Karim, CIPD Human Resources, Business Leader MPI Group, UAE Engro, Dr. Tafweez Amin, Director of the Center of Education, IBA, Dr Izhar Hussain, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, University of Karachi, Dr Farah Iqbal, Assistant Professor of Public Administration Karachi University, Dr Ghazal Khawaja, Humayun Akhtar also addressed the ceremony.

On the occasion Javed Soomro, Lubna Sajid, Osama, Mehak Maryam, Syed Anas Ali, Maha Qaiser, Tabish Shafi, Mehran Ali Shah, Mona Prakash, Jameel Ahmed, Abdul Moeed, Ahmed Ali Shah, Kamran Ikram, Zainab Noor, Hemoon Kalani, Sadia Tariq and Hassan Amin earned gold, silver and platinum awards in categories of Social Justice, Community Development, Education and Entrepreneurship, Sports & Recreation, Media & Communications, Science and Technology, Environment and Agriculture, Arts and culture and the Innovative ideas.
