Government of PakistanRangers enjoy full support of federal govt: Nisar

TAXILA, Pakistan: The Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Rangers enjoy full support of the Federal government which will facilitate the paramilitary force to complete its job of establishing complete peace in Karachi.

In his address at a news conference in Taxila on Saturday afternoon, Nisar said that it is a matter of concern that extension in the Rangers’ powers is made controversial every time.

The minister said that the Karachi operation was launched after consultation and consensus with the Sindh government on the orders of the Supreme Court.

Chaudhry Nisar said that Rangers have restored peace in Karachi to a great extent sacrificing their lives during the last two and a half years. He pointed out how the paramilitary force can be expected to deliver when it does not have the required powers.

Meanwhile, the newly-elected Sind Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah signed a summary today to extend stay of Rangers in Sindh by one year and special powers by 90 days in the Provincial Capital.
