KARACHI, Pakistan: The veteran Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) politician Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Wednesday tendered his resignation as the Sindh Chief Minister hours after the PPP formally nominated Syed Murad Ali Shah for the post.

Qaim Ali Shah submitted his resignation to the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad at the Governor House in Karachi on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile talking to media men after meeting party leader Makhdoom Jamil-ul-Zaman in Karachi on Wednesday, the Sindh Chief Minister designate Murad Ali Shah said that he will take along all political forces including opposition to resolve the problems being faced by people in the province.

Murad Ali Shah said issue of extension of Rangers’ power in Karachi has already been resolved and party leadership has issued directives in this regard. He said that the ongoing operation in Karachi could only be succeeded when all the stake holders play their due role in this regard.

Earlier addressing a press conference on Tuesday night, the Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Moula Bakhsh Chandio informed about the formal nomination of Murad Ali Shah as the Sindh Chief Minister, saying that the PPP had taken the decision to replace Qaim Ali Shah as the party needed an energetic chief minister as it had to prepare for 2018 general election.

Chandio also said that the members for the provincial cabinet would also be finalised soon, adding that the cabinet might be announced in phases.
