PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday continued rescue and relief operation in flood-hit areas of Chitral district.
Sources said that the relief operation was in full in Chitral’s Ursoon village and Drosh district, the hardest hit areas, where more than 500 tents were distributed among the victims.
The Provincial Minister Mahmood Khan Achakzai also visited Ursoon village and distributed Rs 300,000 in cash among the affected people.
Talking to media, a spokesman of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that all those families, who have lost their members, were given compensation amount of Rs 300,000 rupees each, besides one-month ration for all the affected families.
The spokesman said that search for the 13 missing persons was going on.
The General Officer Commanding (GoC) Malakand Major General Ghafoor also met the sufferers and gave them ration on behalf of the Pakistan Army.
