LAHORE, Pakistan: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on Tuesday evening at Aiwan-e-Auqaf in Lahore for sighting the Shawwal moon while the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that there is a chance for the sighting of Shawal moon on July 05 and Eid ul Fitr is likely to be celebrated on Wednesday.
Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, the Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, will chair the Committee meeting for sighting the crescent of Shawwal-ul-Mukaram 1437 AH whereas the meetings of Zonal/Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also be held at their respective offices.
“According to astronomical parameters, there is a chance for the sighting of Shawwal moon, 1437 AH on the evening of July 5 on 29th of the Ramazan, 1437 AH. The new moon will born on crossing conjunction point at 16-01 PST (Pakistan standard time) on July 04,” an official of the Met office told the state-run news agency.
Earlier, the Shawwal moon was not sighted on Monday night in Gulf Arab countries; therefore, Eid-ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Kuwait and Yemen will be celebrated on Wednesday (July 06).
