ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, Lok Virsa would organize a reference for the Legendary Qawwal (late) Amjad Sabri on June 30.

Lal Band from Lahore also will join the reference and perform to pay tribute to the tradition which has to go on. Bakhshi Brothers, young singers from a related Qawal family of Bakhshi Qawals will also perform in the reference.

Dr. Fouzia Saeed, Executive Director Lok Virsa invited the people of twin cities of Islamabad/ Rawalpindi to attend a reference for the bearer of a great tradition of Sabri Qawaals. She said that Amjad Sabri died at age 46 but will live on like his forefathers did in the creative expression of the coming generations.

She said that Lok Virsa is inviting our young music players to pay the respects and show that our music has been there for centuries and will continue in the centuries to come.
