ISLAMABAD: A ‘None of the Above’ check box would be included in ballot papers for May 11 elections for voters who do not want to cast their vote for any candidate in their constituencies, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided on Wednesday.

“After the inclusion of NOTA, the ECP would hold re-election in the constituency where 51 per cent people would vote against all,” sources said.

The Election Commision would request for the issuance of an ordinance as a legislation was required for change in the ballot papers, they said.

In a meeting, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim,  the Commission also decided to post names of 189 former parliamentarians with unverified degrees on ECP website.
