ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Thursday said Quranic Teachings would be compulsory from class one to 12th in the educational institutions of the country.

Giving a briefing “The Teaching of the Holy Quran and Translation in the Educational Curriculum” held here at Islamic Ideology Council, the Minister said that the students from class 1 to 6 would be taught Naazrah Quran.

He said that the Quranic education would be compulsory from class 1 to 10th, while from class six to twelfth the Holy Quran would be taught with translation.

He said the ministry of education had also sought suggestions from the provinces to make Holy Quran as part of the education curriculum.

The Minister said, in this regard, the directions had been sent to provinces for implementing the decision.

Ministry of Federal Education also presented a set-up in this regard to the Islamic Ideology Council to seek its consultation.
