ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday appreciated Islamic Development Bank’s (IDB) continued support to Pakistan and hoped it would further expand in scope and volume in the future.

It may be mentioned that IDB has a $3 billion ongoing financing programme in Pakistan.

The minister made these remarks in a meeting with the visiting IDB President Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al Madani in Islamabad on Tuesday, in which both the dignitaries discussed the current profile of IDB financing for different projects in Pakistan.

The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the Economic Affairs Division.

The IDB president shared with the minister details of IDB’s recent annual meetings held at Jakarta.

The finance minister said that on his instructions, the Secretary Economic Affairs Division represented Pakistan at the meeting as he could not attend the event due to engagement in budget preparations.

The IDB president also expressed his best wishes for Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and prayed for his complete recovery and health after the operation. In response, the minister appreciated the kind sentiments of Ahmed Mohamed Ali and said that the whole Pakistani nation prayed for complete health of the prime minister.
