ISLAMABAD, Pakistan:  At least eight persons including a minor girl were killed in rain related incidents in Lahore and Faisalabad after heavy rain lashed parts of upper and central Punjab on early Tuesday morning.

According to a private news channel, seven labourers were killed and two other sustained injuries when wall of an under construction godown near Quaid-e-Azam Interchange collapsed due to heavy rain in Lahore.

The rescue sources revealed that the labourers were sleeping in their tent when the wall collapsed, killing seven of them on the spot.

On the other hand, roof of a house collapsed due to rain in Ibn-e-Mariam Colony in Faisalabad, killing a minor girl and injuring her father.

Rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital.

Heavy rain with strong winds was reported in upper and central parts of Punjab including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Multan, Chiniot and Kasur.
