ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Science and Technology (S&T) and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that Pakistan wants to further strengthen ties with Italy as it will help increase mutually beneficial trade and industrial cooperation.
“We are really eager to develop government to government relations in a variety of fields including S&T, and Industries etc,” Rana Tanveer Hussain said in a meeting with the Italian delegation led by the Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo in Islamabad on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged ideas of mutual interest on political and industrial cooperation.
The minister appreciated the efforts of ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo in bringing Pakistan and Italy close and providing them with great opportunities to work with an active team of Italy in Pakistan.
The ambassador informed the minister that they will invite him and his team to Italy so they may come and visit various industries which are interest to the government of Pakistan in a variety of fields. The minister accepted the invitation and said that Italy is a gateway to European market and a very important strategic partner for Pakistani government.
The minister also presented a shield of thanks to the Italian delegation.
