ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Privatization Muhammad Zubair has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family are willing to face investigation of Panama Leaks at any forum.

“We are willing to face any investigation through the judiciary or any other forum to ensure the transparency regarding the Prime Minister’s family,” Muhammad Zubair said in a press conference along with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and MNA Danyal Aziz at the Press Information Department (PID) in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Muhammad Zubair said that there is no allegation against the prime minister regarding the offshore companies and the investigation regarding his family will be ensured.

The minister said that the government is committed for conducting fair investigation into offshore companies matter. He said that government believes in accountability and transparency in the tax system and it will start investigation against all those involved in tax evading and owning illegal offshore companies.

Zubair said that all the opposition parties including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are not sure to come into power through ballot in the next general elections; hence, they are using non democratic tactics to get power.

The minister said that the PTI Chief Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan has also owned offshore companies as well as property in United Arab Emirate (UAE), adding that but according to law, no investigation against him can be initiated.

Muhammad Zubair accused that PTI Chief Imran Khan has not filed tax returns for the past 20 years, adding, his party leaders Jehangir Khan Tareen and Aleem Khan also own offshore companies.

Moreover, he said that same allegation in Panama Leaks has been levelled against Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s son Moonis Elahi. He questioned that “Pervaiz Elahi should be investigated for this”?
