Government of PakistanMuslim Ummah should adopt common strategy to deal with terrorism: President Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday said that the time has come for the Muslim Ummah to adopt a common strategy to deal with terrorism, as terrorists were tarnishing the image of Islam with their misguided ideology.

The President said this while talking to Saqr Bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri, Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

The President said that Islam was a religion of peace that believed in the sanctity of human life and did not allow the killing of people.

He said that misguided elements had disgraced Islam and Islamic countries need to work together to address this menace. He stated that Muslim countries should benefit from each other’s capabilities and should cooperate in various fields.

The President emphasized the need for increase in trade between both countries and thanked the Government of Qatar for their initiative to provide jobs to skilled and unskilled Pakistani workers in their country.

President Mamnoon congratulated Qatar on hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2020 and said that this would increase the prestige of Qatar in the international community.

The President noted that a large workforce would be required to organize the FIFA World Cup and Pakistan was willing to cooperate with Qatar in this regard.

He said that investors from friendly countries such as Qatar could take advantage of the improved security situation in Pakistan to invest in various projects.

Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan said that the law and order situation in Pakistan was rapidly improving and Qatari investors were evincing interest in investing in the country.
