NEW DELHI, India: Pakistan on Tuesday conveyed its serious concern to India over RAW’s subversive activities in Balochistan and Karachi, saying such acts undermine efforts to normalize bilateral relations.

In a meeting with his Indian Counterpart S Jaishankar ahead of the Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process Conference in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry took up the matter of capture of RAW Officer Kulbushan Jadev and expressed serious concern over RAW’s involvement in subversive activities in Balochistan and Karachi.

“Such acts undermine efforts to normalize relations between the two countries,” Chaudhry told his Indian Counterpart according to Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria.

The two foreign secretaries discussed all outstanding issues between Pakistan and India including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute during the meeting.

Chaudhry emphasized that the decades-old Kashmir required a just solution as per United Nations Security Council resolutions and wishes of Kashmiris.

“Kashmir remains a core issue that requires a just solution, in accordance with UNSC resolutions and wishes of Kashmiris,” Chaudhry said.

Zakaria said that during the meeting with S Jaishankar, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry underscored Pakistan’s commitment for friendly relations with all its neighbours including India in line with the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Chaudhry also conveyed concern over the efforts by the Indian authorities for the release of the prime suspects of the Samjhauta Express blasts. He also conveyed concern over the environment being created in India for the release of the suspects.

Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry further pointed out that despite repeated requests, India has not shared investigation reports in which 42 Pakistanis had lost their lives.

However, the Pakistani foreign secretary expressed the confidence that, building on the goodwill generated by the recent high level contacts, the two countries should remain committed to a sustained, meaningful and comprehensive dialogue process.

In this spirit, the foreign secretary underscored the need for early commencement of comprehensive dialogue for which the Indian foreign secretary’s visit to Pakistan is due.

Nafees Zakaria said that the meeting between the two foreign secretaries provided a useful opportunity to exchange views on recent developments in bilateral context.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
