Government of PakistanCPEC to realize dreams of Pakistan's founders: President Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain Monday said China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be a game changer in the entire region and would help realize the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

He was speaking at a ceremony arranged here by Khubaib Foundation in connection with Orphan Day.

The President said corruption was a curse which could erode a society and urged the people to eradicate the menace through collaborated efforts.

He said the main causes of corruption were erosion of moral and spiritual values, besides avarice against which there was a need to launch full-fledged movement. Youth could play an active role in that regard, he added.

He said the people should discharge their responsibilities and duties with complete sense of honesty and integrity and put the country on the path of progress and prosperity.

President Mamnoon also urged the people to fully back the government in completion of mega development projects being undertaken throughout the country.

He said the government had initiated a number of mega power projects and with their completion, the loadshedding would completely end by 2018 or would be minimized greatly.

Nadeem Ahmed Khan, Chairman Khubaib Foundation and Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Sadik Babur Girgin were also present on the occasion.

The President observed that deprivation from proper education and distance from the core values were some of the causes of terrorism.

With proper upbringing of coming generations, such issues could be overcome easily, he added.

He said institutions like Khubaib Foundation were performing such a noble cause.

The President appreciated the welfare set-ups like Khubaib Foundation and said that such institutions had great significance because they were looking after the deserving children in a society.

He said the children being groomed in such welfare institutions deserved to be educated well like other normal children.

The President referred to the life of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him).

He advised the children to remain confident and concentrate on their studies, besides nurturing ideal behaviour and mannerism so that they could get their due status in the society.

They should utilize their capabilities by serving the nation and country, he added.

The President also expressed his optimism that these children would serve the nation and the country with their good deeds.
