SIALKOT, Pakistan: Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif Saturday said that the promotion of quality medical education was the top priority of the government and government was making all-out sincere efforts for this purpose.

He stated this while addressing the convocation of the first batch of 100 male and female doctors held at Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College (KMSMC) here.

Federal Minister greeted the passing out doctors, their parents and the management of KMSMC for their marvelous performance, in this regard.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif urged the doctors and paramedics to utilize their energies to serve the ailing humanity with full devotion and dedication, besides, touching the heights of excellence of their sacred profession as well.

He said that the medical colleges have successfully been playing a pivotal role in promotion of international standard quality education in the country.

The Minister pledged to make the Sialkot as a model developed district of the country.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will lay the foundation stone of grand mega project of Sialkot-Lahore Motorway within next two months.

He said that the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had also approved Ring Road project around the Sialkot city following the future needs of the people. He said that Rs 11 billion would be spent on this mega project.

The Minister also announced the establishment of an Engineering Center of Excellence near Head Marala-Sialkot for providing the advanced skill developmental education of graduation and post graduation levels.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that there were several inner and outer conspiracies in the way of CPEC project, which do not want to see this mega project, saying that CPEC project would definitely change the fate of the country.

He claimed that government would control the menace of load shedding of electricity within the next two years.

Earlier, Federal Minister distributed the degrees and prizes among the students for their best performance.
