ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Monday expressed willingness to meet or converse with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on April 24 Jalsa; however, he categorically declined permission for holding public gathering in the Federal Capital.

In a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, the minister firmly stated that no public meeting would be allowed at D-Chowk or F-9 Park of Islamabad. He said that such activities infringe upon fundamental rights of the people of the capital besides inflicting harm on the economy.

The interior minister appealed to all political parties to cooperate in maintaining peace of the city.

The Interior Minister said that free for all public meeting on April 24 in Islamabad would not be allowed and writ of the state would be established. He, however, said that he is open to meet or converse with PTI leader Imran Khan on the issue.

Nisar said that four-month sit-ins of PTI caused losses worth billions of rupees to the country besides one billion expenditure on deployment of security forces to handle the situation.
