ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Imran Khan has announced to address the nation on Sunday evening as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday wrote a letter to the Pakistan Television (PTV) to make necessary arrangements for the speech.

In the letter to the PTV Officials on Friday, the PTI said that the PTV is a national asset and it wasn’t established for a particular person or family. The PTI said that every Pakistani enjoys as much as rights to use PTV as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family have.

The PTI said that the government ministers misguided the people about Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Imran Khan’s Bani Gala property through PTV. The ministers also misled people on Panama leaks.

On Thursday, the National Assembly initiated the debate over the Panama leaks which stunned the World as many high profile personalities including family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were found having ownership of offshore companies.

However unlike its usual practice, the state-run television did not broadcast the opposition speeches on Panama leaks.

Khursheed Shah backs Imran’s speech on PTV

Meanwhile talking to media, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah said that PTV didn’t broadcast his and Imran Khan’s speeches. He said that he supports Imran Khan’s stance to address the nation, arguing that PTV is a public property.

In his speech on the floor of the National Assembly on Thursday, Imran Khan demanded an independent judicial commission under the Chief Justice to probe Panama leaks.

Imran said that an independent inquiry with collaboration of international forensic experts and audit company should be carried to unearth facts.

“If an empowered commission is not constituted for investigation, we will come on roads,” he said.

Khursheed Shah in his remarks in the House also opposed setting up of former Supreme Court Judge-led judicial commission as earlier announced by the prime minister, and said instead the matter should be investigated by international audit companies of repute.
