ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Railways flouted a tender to construct 11 multi-storey blocks for the employees in major cities of the country.

“The tender in this regard has been published in different newspapers and also placed in the Ministry of Railways’ website,” an official in the ministry told APP.

He said the blocks have 176 quarters that would be constructed in Lahore, Karachi and Narowal for the staff of Pakistan Railways.

For the project Pakistan Railways has asked that the construction firms who hold category III or above license of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) are eligible to apply, he said.

“It was also necessary that the firm had executed 5 major projects worth Rs 200 million during the last 10 years,” the official added.
