ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Information Technology & Telecommunication, Anusha Rehman on Wednesday said IT park in Islamabad would be followed by two more parks in Lahore and Karachi.

She was talking to a 13-member Korean Eximbank team led by Dr.Yim Deok Soon and Prof. Park Hung Kook which called on her and shared feasibility study report of first state-of-the-art IT park.

The team shared in detail salient features, models and proposed designs along with other technical aspects for building of first IT park in Pakistan.

Secretary IT, Rizwan Bashir Khan and senior officials from Ministry of IT and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) had a very fruitful discussion with Korean experts regarding different aspects of feasibility study report.

Anusha Rehman shared with the team of Ministry’s vision to provide good infrastructure to IT industry to leverage the full potential of IT talent.

She said IT park would provide a whole ecosystem including affordable space to companies along with power, bandwidth, and linkages between industry and academia.

The Minister said, “We have an abundant IT talent and IT parks would be a good way of leveraging that talent to boost Pakistan’s IT exports which have already grown over 40 percent since last year.

She appreciated passion and spirit of Korean team and their constant support in IT park project and hoped that the IT Park would further augment long lasting and strong relationship between Pakistan and Korea.

She asked the Korean team to fast track its efforts and try to submit their final report by next week so that we could enter in to an implementation phase of the project at the earliest.

She urged all stakeholders to collectively work to positively achieve the milestones.
