Government of PakistanFederal govt denies any deal behind Musharraf's departure

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha Monday said that the federal government had just followed the court order and there was no deal behind departure of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

Talking to Pakistan Television (PTV), he said that if court issues an order to bring Musharraf back through Interpol, the government would obey such order.

He said there were court’s decisions regarding inclusion and exclusion of Musharraf name in Exit Control List (ECL), adding that the government had followed these decisions.

Replying to a question, he said that opposition was just politicizing the Pervez Musharraf issue but it presented red-carpet guard of honour in its tenure.

He said that it was Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government who registered an FIR against General (retd) Musharraf and registered a case under article-6 of the constitution.

The government was ready to discuss the issue of Musharraf departure in the next session of the National Assembly, he added.
