POKHARA, Nepal: The Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi are likely to meet on the sidelines of Nuclear Security Summit in Washington later this month.

His remarks came when he was talking to media after a meeting with the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Inter-Summit Ministerial Meeting in Pokhara City of Nepal on Thursday.

The Nuclear Security Summit will be held in Washington on March 31- April 1 at which Nawaz and Modi will be among the participants along with the heads of government and states of 35 to 45 countries.

Sartaj Aziz said that the meeting between the two prime ministers will certainly produce positive results for both the countries.

The advisor said that Pathankot terrorist attack has suspended the dialogue process between Pakistan and India and now hopefully the process will resume. He said that Joint Investigation Team of Pakistan will visit India on March 27 to probe the incident.

Talking about his meeting with the Indian external affairs minister, Sartaj Aziz said that the meeting was held in a pleasant atmosphere. He said that SAARC agenda was also discussed in the meeting.

Earlier, Affairs Sartaj Aziz held talks with Sushma Swaraj on the sidelines of SAARC Inter-Summit Ministerial Meeting and delivered to her a formal invitation letter from the Prime Minister of Pakistan to his Indian counterpart for the 19th SAARC Summit to be held in Islamabad this year.

The adviser also had meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Bhutan and Maldives.
