Government of PakistanPakistan has all potential, talent to overcome challenges: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said that Pakistan had all the potential and talent to overcome the challenges and his government was committed to steering the country towards claiming its due place among developed nations.

No country or nation, he underlined, could succeed without achieving economic stability, and no such stability was possible if terrorists were allowed to continue with their anti-peace and anti-Pakistan agenda.

Nawaz Sharif was talking to outgoing Ambassador of Argentina Rodolfo J. Martin Saravia, who paid a farewell call on him here at the Prime Minister House.

Felicitating the Ambassador of Argentina on completion of 12 years stay in Pakistan, the Prime Minister appreciated his contribution in strengthening and further broadening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Rodolfo J. Martin Saravia greatly admired the Prime Minister’s courageous decision of taking the terrorists head-on, saying that the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb was the best thing happening to Pakistan.

The operation, he added, had proven to be exceedingly successful in eliminating terrorism from the country.

Appreciating the economic policies of the present government, the Ambassador said that the Prime Minister had put the country on the right path by turning around its economy.

Pakistan’s perception had been changing in the last three years and the country was now viewed quite positively the world over, Rodolfo J. Martin Saravia added

He also appreciated the Prime Minister’s vision of eliminating energy deficiency from Pakistan.

The Ambassador praised the Prime Minister on taking progressive stance on issues pertaining to women and minorities and lauded the measures taken by the present government to protect them against unjust and discriminatory outlook.

The Prime Minister said the vision of transforming Pakistan into a modern and developed state, as envisioned by the Father of the Nation, could not be realized if about half of the population (consisting of women) was ignored.

Women’s role in the country’s progress was as crucial as that of men, he said and emphasized that minorities belonging to any religion and faith were equal citizens of Pakistan and enjoyed rights at par with their countrymen.

The meeting was also attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and other senior government officials.
