BusinessCPEC to benefit 250 industries of Pakistan

KARACHI, Pakistan: Managing Director of Fazal Steel Mills, Karim Aziz has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will benefit around 250 industries of country.

Talking to the state-run news agency in Karachi on Thursday, he said the project will also reduce unemployment in the country, so it should not be politicized.

He said the project will 100 percent benefit the steel industry and new investment is the necessity of time to promote the steel industry in country. The project will promote the biletral, social, trade and cultural relations between Pakistan and China, he added.

“CPEC would benefit all provinces of country and Pakistan would emerge as the economic hub in the region”, said Karim Aziz.

He informed that the steel industry is facing challenges because steel is being imported from China and local industry is unable to compete with Chinese imported steel. Steel raw material should only be imported from China but not the bar or other products so that the local industries could be saved.
