BusinessNA adopts resolution to extend Special Economic Zones Ordinance 2015

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly Wednesday adopted a resolution to extend the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015 (No.XVIII of 2015) for a further period of 120 days with effect from April 3, 2016.

State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed moved the resolution in the House.

Meanwhile, Chairman Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, Rana Shamim Ahmed Khan presented the report of the committee on the bill to amend the Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government Act, 2015 [The Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government (Amendment) Bill, 2015.

Some four periodical reports of the standing committees were also presented in the House as required by rule 234 A of the Rules and Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.

Chairman Standing Committee on Housing and Works Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari, Chairman NA body on States and Frontier Regions Muhammad Jamal ud-din, Chairman NA body on Defence Shaikh Rohale Asghar and NA body on Commerce Siraj Muhammad Khan presented the periodical reports of their respective committees for the period from July 2015 to December 2015.
