DUBAI: So far it is the most important day today for Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings as they are desperate to win their respective matches for their survival in the first edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Shoaib Malik-led Karachi Kings simply requires a victory against Peshawar Zalmi at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday to qualify for the play-offs. However, it is more difficult for Lahore Qalandars to enter the next round as not only it has to beat Islamabad United but also expects that Karachi Kings doesn’t succeed today.
In addition, in case both Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings win their respective matches but due to having a better net run rate, the later will qualify for the play-offs.
Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United have already quailed for the play-offs round of the PSL which will commence on February 19.

Earlier last night, Quetta Gladiators clinched a 2-wicket victory in a thrilling match against Lahore Qalandars in Dubai.
While batting first Lahore Qalandars scored 201 runs in 20 overs. Its top three batsmen Chris Gayle, Azhar Ali and Umar Akmal scored 50s.
In reply, Quetta Gladiators achieved the target in in last ball of 20th over for the loss of 8 wickets.
Quetta-born Bismillah Khan was declared man of the match for scoring 55 runs.
