ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government is giving special attention to the local manufacturing and assembling of mobile phone sets.
According to officials, a Chinese company is expected to launch a mobile handset manufacturing unit in April this year, Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday.
They said this will be the country’s first mobile manufacturing unit which will help attract more investment in this sector and generate job opportunities.
The officials said the government has announced a tax incentive package in the current fiscal budget including income tax exemption for five years for local manufacturing of mobile phones.
The incentive package has helped attract investment in the sector.
